Splashing In Muddy Puddles
I hate it when my kids get muddy and dirty. Mainly because it means either my wife or I (mostly my wife) will have to give them an unplanned bath in the middle of the day so they don’t dirty up the rest of the house. And lately with all the rain we’ve been getting here in Oklahoma, there have been a fair share of mid-day baths.
But there is something poetic about them not letting mud and dirt get in the way of them experiencing the level of fun that they’re after. I can see their little minds thinking through process, “That puddle would be amazing to splash in! I know I will probably have to go in and take another bath later, but I’ve got to know what this feels like!” Splash!!!
Secretly I think I’m envious.
I want to go after life with no regrets. Not carelessly, but with the freedom to splash in the puddles of an God-given, innate passion or desire with reckless abandon, even if they’re muddy.
I’m not there yet, but I’m working to loosen up a bit.
The right puddles are worth it!
Thanks for reading….now let’s go splash in some puddles…
I dare you to do it and let me know how it went.
